“Desire without knowledge is not good,
and to be overhasty is to sin and miss the mark”
Desire is good. It shows the beginnings of passion and drive. Desire is a great motivator. However, it takes much more than motivation to get something moving. It takes the actual step in a forward direction.
People desire a lot of things: to be healthier, to have less stress, to make more money, to be better at (fill in the blank). Practically, if you want to “get” somewhere, it takes finding transportation, gas, time, direction, and an end point. It’s good to desire, but to actually “get there” involves knowledge, research, planning, time and commitment.
You’ve heard it said, “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.” You must not only have the desire & vision, but map out what it takes to get there. If you are overhasty in your desire without proper planning and counting the cost, you set yourself up for failure.
It’s not enough to desire to do something but to be dedicated to the vision and mission. Moving from motivation to dedication builds self confidence and when you’re confident in yourself others will be too!
Turn your desire into true passion. Turn your passion into a plan. Plan your work and work your plan! The key to success is keeping your vision before you and never giving up.
What you have allowed yourself to conceive and believe you will achieve!
