(I dedicate this poem to all who do and all who don’t yet understand the battle for your mind and spirit. I pray the Truth sets you free.)
Purpose to take action today for the person that you want to become tomorrow and thereafter!
Another thought runs through my head-
Will it breathe life?
Leave me for dead?
They come fast, consuming my mind,
Retelling the past I want to leave behind.
I knew not that all thoughts are not my own.
I have an enemy,
Trying to clone me,
A war raging within me,
Where good and evil spin wildly.
In the middle my arms stretched wide,
“Cleanse me of this mess inside!”
Satan sifting like wheat,
But, God, I kneel at Your feet.
Of the lies and destruction he wants me to be!
I stand atop the Words of Life-
Moving mountains, crushing strife!
Peace flowing more freely in my cerebral space,
I’m trusting You as my resting place.
Negative thoughts come back and knock,
But, this time I hit “delete” and “block.”
The Breath of Life comes rushing through,
“Let Me love and heal you.”
My heart wide open.
My mind renewed.
A daily war awaits you and I,
It’s in our mind, invisible to the eye.
Two steps forward, a step back is not a fail-
For with God you and I will always prevail!
Your Enemy Exposed
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” ~Ephesians 6:12
Your Mind: The Battlefield
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Messiah.” ~ 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” ~Ephesians 4:23
Your Blessing, Hope, and Future
“And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” ~Romans 12:2
