We met with the doctor a little over half an hour ago, and he said that all went back beautifully. He couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. He took pictures before, during, and after; and showed us the pictures. We were in awe and cried. If you saw the extent of her injury and how much tissue she lost; in addition to the tissue they had to cut away because of how dirty it was, you would understand how serious this surgery was for her. They had to clamp one of two arteries to ensure that her fingers would turn pink and they wouldn’t have any complications. Her fingers turned pink and they were rejoicing. We are so grateful that he took his time!
He did state that her index and thumb will have a little stiffness, but that comes with the extent of the injury. Praise God she has her hand and mobility to boot! She will have to work doubly hard in therapy for it, and she is more than ready to do that because she is bent on embracing life to the fullest.
They will keep the vac on her arm/hand wound to clean out excess fluids for the next couple of days. If all goes well and the skin takes, she will be GOING HOME in 5 days!!!
God is so good, people! If you have followed her story and have not realized that He is real and He can do the same and then some for you – we strongly encourage you in truth that, He is the God of impossibilities and miracles! You are no different than AJ. You are just as special and He desires to resurrect the dead and/or broken pieces of your life and make you a new and awesome creation and testimony in Him!
Once again, our heartfelt gratitude from the bottom of or hearts to yours. If I could hug each one of you and tell you that you are loved, special, and we are grateful for you- I would.
Because of His awesome grace, mercies, and love,
~Laurie for the PopTribe, #TeamAniyah
